Prerequisite: at least one previous Theater class; familiarity with stage etiquette, vocabulary, improv skills, text and script analysis. This class will focus on the fundamentals of audition preparation that begins with having an effective monologue ready to perform. We will select a monologue piece for each student to work on, and then develop a process for performing that piece by learning and applying techniques in script-analysis, stage presentation, and from the Stanislavsky Method Technique. The goal of this class is to create, or add to a repertoire of monologues for the student's college application portfolio and general audition resources. The class will culminate with a final presentation of the monologues at a Theater evening showcase - estimated for late November or early December and as needed for taping for seniors applying to college.
