Prerequisite: Two semesters of Strings 1 and/or can play C, G, D, and A scales; understanding of whole, half, quarter, eight and dotted half rhythms; 4/4, 2/4, and ¾ time signatures and basic sight reading.
Intermediate Strings is for students who already have an understanding of basic music reading, instrument assembly and maintenance, correct playing position and sound tone production. Instruction offers a continued focus on the refinement of tone quality, technique, aural skills, and music literacy. The East Bay Center does not provide instruments for this class. Students are to bring their own instruments.
