Prerequisite: At least 2 semesters of Youth Brass 1 and/or can play Bb Major scale; eighth, triplets and sixteenth notes, and comfortable playing multi part pieces. Students should know how to build a major scale using whole and half steps, be somewhat fluent playing major scales in every key, be able to play arpeggios for major and minor triads, and have a solid grasp of rhythmic notation.
We will be exploring improvisation, deeper understanding of chords and scales, rhythmic feel, and techniques for becoming a more fully developed player.
