Richmond Rotary and East Bay Center for the Performing Arts are proud to present:

“LOST SECRETS OF THE IRON TRIANGLE”  A STORY OF THE HEART OF RICHMOND

East Bay Center for the Performing Arts’ Iron Triangle Theater in co-production with the Richmond Rotary celebrates the commissioning and world premiere of the most popular novel about growing up in Richmond in this generation.  Based on the Book “RICHMOND TALES” By Summer Brenner.

East Bay Center for the Performing Arts has commissioned a dramatic script of Richmond Tales  - a magical novel about everyday challenges, unlikely friendships and the coming of age questions that every adolescent asks about why the world it is the way it is.  In this case the growing up takes place in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood. Both the book and the play touch on the broad historical forces and waves of immigration that have shaped the neighborhoods and trajectory of greater Richmond as well as the imagination of two children who envision a future for themselves by traveling back (and forward) in time.

TAYO ALUKO & FRIENDS PRESENT "CALL MR. ROBESON: A LIFE, WITH SONGS"

On Sunday, February 24, from UK to Carnegie Hall to East Bay Center for the Performing Arts, the award winning, "Call Mr. Robeson" comes West for Black History Month.

Paul Robeson is a great and famous actor, singer and civil rights campaigner. When he gets too radical and outspoken for the establishment's liking, he is branded a traitor to his country, is harassed, and denied opportunities to perform or travel.

This award-winning rollercoaster journey through Robeson’s remarkable life highlights how his activism caused him to be disowned and disremembered, even by leaders and descendants of the American civil rights movement. It features some famous songs and speeches, including a dramatic rendition of Ol’ Man River, and a spectacularly defiant testimony to the Senate House Un-American Activities Committee.
